Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston (1891-1960)

Harold Bloom, Yale University, wrote of Hurston in 2008, "Of all major African-American writers, she appears to have possessed the most personal verve, a life-force wonderfully embodied in  "Their Eyes Were Watching God".
